What I will remember the most about my fourth grade year is that I had a great class and teacher. I love that we worked hard together for each project.  I love that we had a garden and we are planting seeds. When our class goes out in the garden and everybody helps out. My favorite subjects in school are writing because we can write about anything.
What I am most proud of is that I worked hard on tests for middle school. I am proud of is that I am getting better at math and writing and I love to do math and writing. I am proud of is that I am making friends in every year. I am proud of is that our whole class is getting better at math and a lot more. That is what I am most proud of.

What I am looking forward to middle school is that you can go in all of these clubs. I am looking forward is the outing club. You can go hiking and biking. I am looking forward to going to all of these classes. That is what I am looking forward to.

The Wax Museum

For the wax museum I think I will do a great job on my project. What I will remember the most is that Alan Shepard was the first American in space. I liked the costume that I have for the wax museum. The most challenging part was the speech because you have to put all of the important stuff in to one small speech. But my most proud of my speech because I worked hard. I think my class did a great job on the wax museum.

Alan Shepard

ALAN SHEPARD LIFE By: mason Brisard Alan Shepard childhood was full of hard work at home and school. He was born in East Derry NH on November 18 1923. Shepard was raised on a farm. His favorite subject in school were math and science. Alan went to a one room school house. In 1990 Alan graduated from Pinkerton Academy in Derry NH. He grew up to have a good life. Alan Shepard life was great but it did not go so well some times. Alan Shepard married Louise Brewer. In 1963 he was diagnosed with Meniere’s syndrome. He had a hearing loss but he had surgery to get it fixed. He retired from NASA in 1974. He died in Monterrey California on July 21, 1998 from leukemia. He was 75 when he died. Even though his life didn't go so smoothly he had a good career. Alan Shepard had a great career because he had a dream to go to space and it came true. Alan was chosen by NASA to be one of the test pilots to do a project on Mercury 7 mission in 1959. Then in 1961, NASA chose Shepard over John, Glen and other three guys to the first American in space. He went on the mercury Red stone 3 mission and the freedom capsule into space. Even though Alan got to go to space, he had to stop being an astronaut because he had Meniere’s. Alan Shepard still helped NASA even though he could not be an astronaut. He communicated with Apollo 13 and mission during crisis. After his surgery, Alan Shepard went on Apollo 14. He was the commander of the mission. The Apollo 14 was heading to the moon for a project. Alan Shepard fought though the hearing lost and he became an astronaut again. Alan Shepard had many achievements. He became the first American in space. Alan was one of the few to walk on the moon. Shepard was the fifth on the moon and he got to golf on the moon. He put one of the three American flag on the moon. He is in the astronaut hall of fame. There is a statue of him in side of the hall of fame. Alan never gave up. He became a famous astronaut. Alan had a great life because he became wealthy. He was wealthy because of selling real estate after he retired. Alan was an astronaut on Apollo 14 mission. He was given an award called the NASA Distinguished Service Medal. Shepard began flying and qualified as a pilot in 1947. When he received his “aviator wings”. People are still taking pictures of his statue in the hall of fame because he did amazing achievements as an astronaut.

You probably think reusing plastic doesn't matter, but if you want to help the environment it does matter. Americans throw away 35 billion pounds of plastic water bottles each year. The average American throws away 185 pounds of plastic a year. One million plastic bags are used each minute. 46 percent of plastic bags floats in the ocean and they can drift for years. 50 percent of plastic items are used are used once then thrown away. It takes 500 to 1,000 years for plastic to break apart. If you think these facts aren't so great, let me tell you how they affect the environment.
If you throw away plastic it will hurt the environment. People kill one million sea birds and marine mammals each year from plastic in the ocean. Other animals like sea turtles, dolphins and other animal get trapped in the plastic or cut by plastic nets and can rings. Fast food boxes will never decompose and animals can eat the boxes. If you throw plastic away the plastic will give out toxic gas. You can start recycling water bottles and other plastic things to help the environment.
It’s not too hard to help keep plastic out of the ocean and landfills. You can volunteer at a beach cleanup. You can reduce using every day plastic such as sandwich bags and cartons by refilling containers. You can make plastic milk gallons into anything you want. You can do a lot of things to help the environment.
This is what I am doing at my house to help out. When I go biking I bring a trash bag so I can pick up trash on the way. My family makes sure we don’t forget trash at a picnic on the beach. I reuse plastic water bottles so I can help the environment. I try to use less energy in the house by just going outside. I use less water when I brush my teeth. I think you can try some of these things too.
Think for a moment how throwing away plastic hurts the environment. Remember animals can be injured or killed by plastic in the water and landfills. Plastic that is thrown away or burned gives off toxic gases. Pick up trash and reuse water bottles. They can even become a work of art. Remember if you don’t pick up, reduce and reuse plastic it can hurt your environment.
